Very popular wuth fishng trawlers who could lift the lid and and add an X where they had found good fishing on previous occasions. This one looks too narrow for marine and doesn't look like it takes a pen. Getting an actual map would be great, or even seeing what one looked like. D I think the marine models are much much wider. This one may be for a helicopter or plane on a regular route.

I had a reply from Jerry but he has never seen one before like this and has no further information. I took the plunge and removed the covers and found it has two synchro-torque-receivers driving the X and Y axis' with a differential synchro transmitter for the 'track' control. 115/90 volt intended operation, I should be able to do something to drive these if I can boost the voltage from my generators. I've worked out where the connectors go but some of the internal wiring is still a mystery - Github updated with more photos.

I spotted the Pic showing the rather posh leather covered box. So doubtful on the marine use, bearing in mind Mike's pertinent observaton as well.
In very nice condition and beautifully made. Gary

Hi Folks, I believe there is an example of this kit on display at the NELSAM museum in Sunderland
