Hi just started to work on my Philips V5A that I bought in 2021 the Good points are it is complete with back and the hard to get the mains plug that is attached to the back . The Bakelite cabinet is in good condition and it has got is original knobs and cloth bag round the back of the loudspeaker and the wooden base is in good condition with no wood worm . The bad points are the tuning drive chord is snapped ( due to a seized tuning pointer ) and it had a shocking repair Job about 60 Years ago the 2 smoothing capacitors have been cut from the mounting plate and 2 replacement capacitors soldered and taped with Empire tape and not secured to the set and left next to the mains transformer . The other issues is the mains transformer is missing 2 mounting screws 3 wires to the sets ground and the sets rubber feet are perished . Removed the base from the set and as David Boynes had suggested on my other thread that once the the sets base has been removed re stringing the tuning chord might be not a bad job as it looks kind regards Bob
