Norman is quite an entertaining speaker. I've known him for about 40 years, from when I was working at Michael Cox Electronics. He and Mike Cox were colleagues at ABC-TV before the franchise changes. Some time in the early 2000s(?) I invited Norman to give a talk at one of the BVWS Harpenden meetings.

A very interesting talk from Norman there: many thanks for sharing that, particularly as I unfortunately missed it at the time.
There is a certain irony about the interest of French Fifth Republic President Francois Mitterand in HDTV in the 1980s: as a government minister in the French Fourth Republic in 1948 he gave the go-ahead for the 819-line system! Best wishes, Francis
