Battery valve set current consumption.

Recently restored to working order an Ever-Ready Sky Monarch.  This is the AM only version.
This set has a push-pull output stage.   HT current is at a moderate volume control setting is only 10mA.
The B136 or B137 battery is installed on a shelf above the chassis. The shelf is missing in my set.
The B137 must be one of the biggest radio batteries ever made.

Hi.
I have now rewired the output valve base for a DF96, quiescent current is now 13ma with 90v HT . Performance is OK, there is a little less output before distortion sets in and only a small change of the bias resistor value was needed to get it to spec.
LT current is of course now 50ma less too so it's now time to put this one to bed.
I'm now more than happy with this rare set, I was receiving Caroline this afternoon very well indeed with the ferrite DF aerial.
