Anyone know who made the negatron valve, two anodes and a "grid"


I'm aware of the Scott Taggart connection.

Since he had previously designed valves for Ediswan, that would be my guess.

(I cheated by looking in one of Keith's books).

It might be, also found a ref to another contender, Radio Communications Co under their brand name of Polar.

I'd be surprised if RCC made valves; that was usually the province of electric-lamp makers. I see only one reference to RCC in the BVWS Bulletin and it doesn't say much.

I see a few references to RCC in The Setmakers. RCC had a shareholding in Mullard which was affiliated with the Z Electric Lamp Mfg Co.

Here's a picture of a negatron oscillator unit used at sea, it's shown to the left of the receiver in Fig: 2 on magazine page 101, I wonder if it was made by RCC?

Must have been, since it's otherwise RCC gear and Mullard valves.
