Like Al, never used one. Do have a scroll saw that doesn't make a straight cut in 6mm plywood

Just a note to say that I always used to run in new bandsaw blades, light cutting for the first hour or so, I always found that it paid dividends regarding reduced cracking, blade life etc.

There's more to saw doctoring than most folks realize, there is a video in this link showing leveling, tensioning, straightening etc of bandsaw blades on a Vollmer benching machine, the Vollmer machines are top of the range, the forerunners of the machine shown were just coming into the UK when I was last sawmilling, I had my bands done on them, the bands used to come back spot on every time.
