Mystery Plug-In Coils - Any Ideas?

When rummaging through my accumulated junk to decide what/what not to take to the Hornsea Rally at which I had a table today (two tables actually - my wife staffed one - me the other!), I found some plug in coils. I Haven't a clue as to what their original purpose was, but they have a finger-grip at the top, are marked with engraved numbers (0, 4 etc) and have six pins. The also have a notch to correctly orientate the coils when plugged into whatever equipment they were used for.

Any ideas anyone, as to the identity of these mystery coils?

Single untapped pri or sec.

Some formers are ribbed - others are plain and close-wound. As it's handy having the finger pull to remove and insert the coils, I'll probably strip them and use them for a replica vintage 'Hikers' Two' (when I get a round tuit!), for which I have gathered most of the parts including the valves over time. It's odd they way that such things as vintage coil formers are often sought after, but equally so, sometimes don't find a market. EG this one received no bids:

The Hikers Two, now that's the kind of complexity I like....I want to do plugin for that Regenerodyne heap of mine but with one plug in for each range, I have a couple of ideas.

Interesting: although they are not of the traditional Eddystone design, I just wonder if they were intended to be used with an Eddy. product and possibly a very early one. Moreover, although Eddy. are generally thought of as a manufacturer of receivers, they did make some low-powered transmitters many years ago.

That was just a thought; if I get any more (provided that they are relevant and constructive) I'll come back; meanwhile, I'll have a wander through my Archives.

Had a scour on the web, can't find anything yet, that locator indent rings some kind of bell, the base pins resemble UX6 but can't see two fat pins. the numbers are interesting the ones marked with a "0" seem to be the high range which is opposite to what I would expect unless they have been rewound at some point. at a guess I would say receiver or wavemeter?

Anyone's guess - no markings on them other than the ridges being marked A,B,C,D etc.

I think firms such as Raymart and Eddystone general put their names/logos on their formers.

As I write, there's probably some sad soul out there in cyberspace hunting high and low for them to no avail!

I've got almost all of the bits to make the Hikers' Two - valves, bases, inter-valve transformer etc.

Just need the time - it's been on my list of projects since 2008.
