I have found that the case that has the transformer in has one of the screw lugs broken off. Could i leave the case of it altogether when i put the rubber under the screws.

All done and is ok so far.I ended up useing rubber tap washers.

Obviously I'm pleased for you that you've fixed it. FWIW, I would have used large rubber grommets as a first attempt, simply because they are made of softer rubber than tap washers and thus will transmit less vibrations to the case. But if your idea works . . . . 'nuff said!

Funny you should say that as the Hum has returned although not very much I will try your sugestion.
