b7g valve holders

i wounder if any one knows an easy way of cleaning the pin sockets on b7g valve holders . i have a battery portable that uses the paxolin type holders the problem with the one for the dl96 is the little sockets dont make contact with the vave pins.
i have tried spraying the socket with sevisol and pulling the vave in and out.
i realy dont want to change the holder

you may have to change the pins, they are prone to breaking.You can just push them through from the top. I did an Ever Ready model K a while back, and the paxolin base was the root of the problem.

You can just about see if the base pins are broken with an eye glass.

thanks mark. i had a feeling that may be the case, i must admit i cant see any sign of breakage but my eye sight is not so good any more.
i was hopping it may just of been contamination and was hopeing that there may be a way of getting something down the sockets ie
a small dremal bit but i can not find anything to fit.

Rob,
If you get a magnifier, and look at the top of the base the pin is clear, when you see a broken one it is blindingly obvious.

It is then a case of unsoldering the wire and pushing it out with a pointed object, the new pin from a spare base just pushes back in.
I have a couple of spare bases I just use for pinching the pins from.

These bases are a beggar for breaking pins.
