Old radio transformers

I have an old mains transformer from a Hallicrafters SX 28 the thickness of the laminations is 4 mm thicker on one side of the transformer than the other, the transformer worked fine until I scrapped the set (the sum of the parts was > than the sum of the receiver)

Hi Gents, as has been said, not too much of a problem, but well worth 2-3 weeks in a warm place before applying power or even meggering.
If some sign of leakage after that (say 1meg or so at 500V) It could be worth cooking up in paraffin wax.
Apart from looking bad severely rusted lams have never caused me any problems apart from taking a transformer apart.
