6AV6 in place of ECC83

Good evening all
I'm feeling a bit depressed as I don't think anyone has looked at my recent Marshall 10 watt clone addition as I am really want to make a start on it.
One question thought, as I am thinking about just using 1/2 of an ECC83 valve (the new valve to add), would I be better off using an 6AV6 (is it the same as an EBC91?) or sticking with just an ECC83.

Comparing the data sheets of ECC83 and 6AV6 the triodes are almost identical. Don't know about the low noise credentials of the 6AV6 but that may not matter in your application.

Since ECC83s are relatively expensive, if you have 6AV6 around then why not use them if you just need a single triode.

I'm just a wee bit concerned about understanding to add a front end valve to the circuit to overcome the original 'issue' in the poor design (far too much background noise). It does not appear to be much work but its knowing exactly where to break it in to the existing circuit.
I'm sure that I will get there..........I don't want to pay around £2000 for an original amp which will still have the same problem, hence why I'd want to build my own version.
I've ordered a couple of 6AV6's and the price is vastly different to that of an ECC83 - about £6 compared to say £80 to £100 for a NOS valve.....criminal, especially when you only need to use half of it operationally.

They are a 12AX7 made in China, the RS pictures are generic, the anode structures of the AX, AU, and AT valves made in China are all identical, seems like a con but they do have the correct functional parameters. They're fine and we've some in use, their origin is only a problem to audiophools and snobs, (some of the EL34, 6V6, etc types can be a bit rattly after extended use in a combo though).
