The last couple of times I tried to use my Dustbuster vacuum cleaner, it barely ran for a minute before the batteries were drained.
I'd already re-celled it a couple of years ago, but I pulled it apart expecting to find one cell distinctly bad (what usually happens), but they all seemed equally good/bad. But, I couldn't be bothered to mess around with it, and decided to treat myself to a new, super-duper 10.8V Vax hand-held, which duly arrived a couple of days ago.
So, I'm tidying up the shack this evening and as the clutter clears, it became apparent that the "NiCad" problem could be related to the fact that the Dustbuster charger is sitting several inches away from the dis-board in which it normally resides
.
My only consolation is that the the plastic parts did not go in the dustbin for Friday's collection; I suppose I'd best start and re-assemble it... I could even add a charge indicator LED?
