How to remove the front panel from an ONKYO A921 R1 amplifier?

Having removed the three fixing screws, control knobs, nuts & washers from the underside, and (gently) trying to remove the front panel from one of the above, which I need to do in order to gain access to the function switch - a rotary type which is intermittent - I cannot get the panel off.  Having looked at various sites for service info, and found none, only a schematic diagram for the similar A9211 with no dismantling instructiions, I wonder whether any forum member knows how to proceed?

I have now found that the metal front trim plate has to be gently prised off - it's held by 3 screws underneath, thee clips at the top, plus some double sided tape sticking it to the plastic panel . The latter is fixed to the amp. chassis with two screws, plus the securing nuts on 3 pots and the function switch!! I was then able to dismantle the function PCBs, seperate the two, apply servisol to the rotary switch, and two inter-board sockets. When reassembled the function switch worked perfectly, or it did up to when I switched theamp. off at about 5.50PM

Hoopefully the amplifier will continue working OK now, Alan. The fault was due to intermittent contacts in a rotary switch, which appears to be a fairly standard 4pole 3way rotary type with the stop disabled or removed, connected with all 4 poles in parallel, yet providing 7 different positions (Phono, Tuner, Aux, CD, Tape1, Tape2, & MD) Quite how this is achieved I didn't work out, though! Hopefully, treating the switch, plus two plug/socket connections, with Servisol super 10 will prove to be a long-term cure, but at least I now know how to dismantle the amp!!
