Anyone know what DC resistances &/or turns ratio the transformer in one of these should measure? It's supposed to generate 8.5kV from a 12 volt source
(ideally a 12v 80maH Battery, though I've been testing it on a 2Amp current limited mains PSU) Consumption is about 25mA @ 13.8v. The various transistors, etc., check out OK, and I have rewired broken connections on a terminal PCB, but suspect the transformer.

I would go for up to 1K or perhaps a little more on the secondary and a few ohms on the primary.
This is the type of device I use in a home brew form to keep seedlings and onion sets in the ground.
My new build one is very different to the one you have.
