Dial glass for VHF90

Hi All,
I have a very poor dial glass for an Ivory VHF90 that I'm restoring to give to a friend. I was proposing to produce a scan and then use a water slide/lacquer to replace this with a new one. The problem is that its a gold and red dial. Gold/metallics cannot be reproduced using and inkjet and I also doubt that this can be acheived with a colour laser printer either.

Apart from finding a replacement dial glass does anyone have a suggestions please?

When it comes to CAD, I'm at the bottom of the food chain - Robert's the expert on this, but you'd be surprised at how close you can get to mimmicking gold by using the right hue of yellow so it looks more 'shiny gold' and less 'yellowy'. Indeed, the smileys aren't a bad match.

Worth a try if no dial turns up.

It depends where you stand on the 'Authenticity' question. I would make a dial in a colour scheme that I found aesthetically pleasing and that I could print. I could always subsequently change it if an original turned up or printing technology developed so I could print a 'correct' one.

Could you do a transfer for the red and overspray the back in gold having masked any clear areas.
