Philips B4X12A/09 chassis removal

Has any member taken the chassis out of a Philips B4X12A/09 please, mine is wedged at present and I don't want to break that huge dial glass. I need to remove the chassis to work on it, which includes a not nice looking dial cord that's snapped

More or less identical to both of those models Mike, mine is the B4X12A/09.

I've not restored that actual model, but often with these glass is attached to the scale plate on the chassis and comes out with it. It tends to be rarer with Continental designs to have the glass attached to the case/cabinet like on some UK modles where the knobs have to come out.
I've had some Philips where I had to take out the rectifier valve (later ones are selenium) and wiggle.

Peer in with torch and maybe mirror and see is glass attached to chassis. If so try a little "suitable" liquid at top and bottom edges alternately and press along the edge assuming all the screws are out of chassis. If the glass is attached with clips to case then the knobs come off.

At least one photo shows the chassis without glass, so seems more likely the knobs come off and glass stays in box.

The /09 suffix is either a country code or a code for AM IF frequency. I expect the B4X12A models only differ in where made, language and scale markings.

Make sure no liquid gets on the rear of the glass!
