Type "Y" appliance

I'm installing a new gas hob, made by Bosch. The instructions are clearly translated from a foreign tongue and say: "This appliance is type "Y": the supply cable can only be changed....."

i've tried looking up "Y" and drawn a blank. I know about Class 1/2/3 appliances (and the disallowed Class 0 and 01) but not heard of Y. The mains lead is a very ordinary looking bit of black 3 core flex, possibly heat resisting, without a fitted plug.

Any ideas?

Its an IEC 60050-442 1998 (section 442-01-35) standards reference as to how the power cord is fitted internally:

• Type Y
  a method of attachment such that the flexible cable or cord can only be replaced with the aid of special purpose tools normally available to the manufacturer or his agent
  

For completeness, type X doesn't require any special tools etc., and type Z means that replacing the cable would require the destruction of the device.

Type Z would be fitted to items that could be used in wet conditions, the likes of chargers that are potted for example.
I've seen type Y devices that use those triangular headed screws, easily enough to buy the tools for them.

Example of a type Z that I've got is a mains to 12V transformer for garden lights that's IP67. The cables are sealed in.

Hi.
I bought a nice set a few years ago from a local ironmonger 102 bits and well worth the £35. Top quality, even the screwdriver bits don't wear.
