Hello everyone.

I've just joined this forum after being made aware of it.

I have many interests, through the test equipment area including Avometers, aviation and mechanical things to name just a few.

I have an Ekco valve radio which I intend on taking a look at when time permits.

Hi Sinewave,

Welcome.

It's time to get the Ekco out and have a look. If it hasn't been on for a while though give it a thorough visual checkout and beware of faulty capacitors etc before turning it on. A good time to use an Avometer. Have a read around here for tips first.

Hi Tracy.

I do use the Ekco every so often, but after a time there is some tuning drift with difficulty to pick up most stations. There is some mains hum, so some smoothing capacitors may need looking at.
