I've been to an exhibition of Stirling engines at the London Museum of Water and Steam (formerly Kew Bridge Steam Museum). There wasn't a stirling engine gramophone but there was a fan. designed for use in hot countries without an electricty supply and possibly cheaper to run than a punkah wallah. This last remark is not PC, see also "It ain't half hot mum"
