BVWS Best article Award 2015

I know some of you are not BVWS members.  To me it, with the real Museum and events, is doing the most to keep the interest in this hobby alive.  Obviously if you cant afford the membership that's a shame but if you can then its a worthwhile cause with the best relevant magazine in the World, four times a year, plus DVDs of radio and TV related topics at Christmas.  Always a good read with some fine articles and writing a few and submitting them yourself adds a lot to doing a restoration.

This year, I won the best article award and now that its printed and gone I have posted a proof PDF of it.  This is not the final one as that was in low resolution so gloss over the typos; there weren't too many changes by me as far as I can remember. For those that would be interested in a read or just a browse of the pictures.

Has the status of the Museum changed following Gerry's death? I thought it was a separate entity with which the BVWS worked.

The Museum is a charitable trust. This has not canaged since Gerry's death. The BVWS is a members' club. They are separate organisations. It happens that Mike Barker is a trustee of the Museum as well as chairman of the BVWS. The BVWS strongly supports the Museum, notably profits from the NVCF are often used for capital projects at the Museum. The BVWS also provides free space for Bring and Buy stalls at various events and all profit from these goes to the Museum. That's probably over £2000 per year to the Museum.

Don't forget the Museum garden party on Saturday 4th June. Hope to see lots of you there.
