For those that might be interested I've referenced the Wireless World articles in the links below for these historic amateur tests which started in 1921, I posted this lot up on UKVRR as well last night, got tired, hence the delay on posting it on here, some of the articles are short and don't tell a lot but put together they tell the story, these folks were pioneers in long distance "shortwave" communications:
