How to remove the Adverts from the Yahoo E-Mail pages?

If I had a computer that was that bad it would just be fitted with a new hard drive with a clean install of the operating system and then put the old hard drive back in with the slave jumper on if it has one to recover the personal data.
If you do buy one of those machines that are for sale it aught to have a spare bay for expansion that the old drive can go in for data retrieval. Some motherboards no longer have IDE ports on them. I worked around this by chopping the USB plug off one of those cheap boxes that you plug hard drives into and hard wired it to a header that fitted a spare USB port on the motherboard.

Never had cause to use them, but I'm told they work as advertised... I'd guess the old drive is relatively small, so hardly worth the effort of installing - it's just one more thing to go wrong. Personally, I'd just do a temporary lash-up while the wanted data is copied across (while being careful not to infect the new machine  )

That is more like I would expect to see on an IDE drive in an all SATA machine.

Joe, I'm beginning to find 'SpyHunter 4' a ******** nuisance. Every time I turn on the PC it insists on performing what it calls a 'quick scan' that can take an hour to complete, slowing down the computer whilst it scans all files,etc. There seems to be no way, short of uninstalling it, that SpyHunter 4 can be prevented from doing this, What with that, and 'Bitdefender' free edition frequently claiming to have 'updated to the latest version - a restart is required' almost every time I turn on the computer, I'm beginning to think that it would run better without either of these programs. All I want to do is switch on, access things such this site, my webmail a/c, etc., perform tasks as quickly as possible then switch off!!!

Yes, please uninstall them all. Having multiple things like this on the machine can cause all manner of problems.
Once uninstalled, install Malwarebytes and Avast. That is all the protection you need. Adding an ad blocker and Ghostry to your web browser will help again. But don't install duplicates of the same thing - you need 1 virus checker, and 1 malware scanner. Multiple products all attempting doing the same thing can cause problems. I never suggested you installed Spy Hunter. I supplied that link to alert you to the dangers of Speed Browser which I then thought you'd un-install manually. As Mark says above adding more and more programs is like pouring petrol on a fire in an attempt to put it out.
What I, and many other people, have advised you to install is MalwareBytes. That will hopefully get rid of the other junk but, as we said last week, the best solution short of a different computer would be a full re-install from the OS up. Trying to diagnose problems at a distance is always difficult and from the sound of it your PC is in such a state that it would be very hard to deal with even if we were working on it in person. — Joe

A few minutes ago I tried to post a reply stating that I may well uninstall Spy Hunter 4, and go back to MalwareBytes, which I uninstalled some time ago for reasons I don't remember, but, for some reason it (the reply) didn't appear. Hopefully this one will! I will almost certainly buy one of 'unreal dave's' HP PCs, but am undecided whether to opt for the £25 or £35 versions, but will decide soon.
