So, I am on one of my very rare visits to Lidl, and for £11.99, they are are offering a Universal (takes any model) angle grinder stand, viz, the sort where the grinder sits in a cradle so the disc is vertical and you can draw it down on the workpiece which is held horizontally in the vice which is part of the stand ( I think the term 'cut-off wheel' springs to mind for a "real" one).
My first thought is that the Universality of such a thing sounds unlikely, but it says that on the box, so it must be returnable and refundable if it isn't... and £11.99??? It says clearly that this is not for commercial use; but it's the kind of thing I'd use very rarely.
This comes as a kit of parts and assembling it is helped more by the pictures on the box than the instructions, and after a little head-scratching, my Bosch grinder now seems to be mounted quite nicely in the stand. I think that one or two carefully placed tie-wraps would do no harm other than adding a few seconds to the task of removing the grinder from the stand. Of course, I recognise the potential for a visit to A&E (and a long wait!) if this fouls up when I take the next step of trying to cut something with it tomorrow... or maybe the day after.
Wonder if anyone else has bought one of these?
