Excellent Lawrence, Presumably the valves weren't in the Digikey 'Schemeit' library? I rather like the prog - easy to rotate and flip the orientation of components and to move them around and join them up with wires. Nice the way that the wires hook up with no fiddling to get time spot on - it knows what you're trying to do. Good that it has the US/European options for symbols for resistors etc, so you can choose a zig-zag style or an oblong box. Also, different transistor styles - encompassed in a circle or without one. Plenty of options for transformers and inductors. Easy to undo and redo errors.

All in all, very good for a freebie, and I managed to draw a circuit for it, so it seems to be as numpty-proof as a CAD package can ever be!

Use Corel Draw my self with a library of self created symbols. I try to use it for everything that way I get better with it.

Hello David, yes the valve/tube icons are limited, I needed a pentagrid, you can draw one yourself with that program, took me a while as these things do, you can then copy and paste your new basic valve icon on the sheet and add/remove electrodes as needed, you can save as PDF etc without registering which is handy but registration is required to save your work on their site, I see that Farnell have got their fingers in one of these schematic drawing programs, all very handy for fast developement.
If I have time I will post my pentagrid effort....!

The PDF shows a schematic I did on the Digikey Schemeit online schematic drawer.
There component symbols do not contain Pentagrid valves/tubes, the schematic I have drawn shows some "hombrew" valve envelopes constructed from various symbols available on that site, there are no Triode Hexodes either but I think they can be done using the same technique although I have not tried doing a Triode Hexode yet.

I see that Farnell have got their fingers in one of these schematic drawing programs,

Farnell bought the company that makes Eagle (Cadsoft) a year or so ago so they offer that now - Eagle now integrates directly with Farnell's online ordering systems...

RS has a version of Easypc...
