HMV 499.

        Hi, another set from Wales. HMV 499, as badged on the back. I am led to think there is one with the same or very near chassis, made by MARCONI. The set i have has been restored, but not the cabinet its origional and in very good shape for a set, from around 1937ish, there is a link below for the same set only that one is converted to run on 110 volts, mine is 240 volts...regards...Alan.

Hi Alan, the equivalent Marconi radio is a 559, the trader service sheet no 262 covers them both.

You are correct Paul, they used i suspect the same or near same chassis, it really sounds great magic eye is bright i suspect its been restored quite recently, i have not looked under the chassis for component changes, it goes great leave well alone thanks for your reply....regards...Alan.
