Marconiphone 296 Radio Dilemma.

Hi, i have an old Marconi redio to restore, model No 296. A fine radio with one draw back, the PX4 output bottle has been snaffled, has anyone any ideas if i can use another output valve with much the same characteristics as the Px4, i see they have some on Ebay but a mortgage is required....kind regards Alan.

You could try a 6V6G.

Hi, and thanks Steve and Paul, i have 6v6, g or gt, yes and even two KT66,S tested good, but at the moment i will try to find another equivalent, looked at ebay for NR44 price at moment is ok but will go balistic later, the 6v6 and or KT66 are very workable, i will have to look through my old valves see what can be used, thanks guys for your replies....regards....Alan.

Hi i have a few Nos AC2/PENDD, here and i know they are double diode pentodes, if the anode and heater volts are near, strapped as triodes, you never know....regards...Alan
