It is hard to believe that it was 32 years ago today the MV Mi-Amigo sank off the long sand bank in the Thames estuary.

The Radio mast took a further six years to disappear.

The sonar picture was taken a couple of years ago, showing how the ship has now started to break up.

Also for anyone interested, BBC radio Norfolk are broadcasting a programme about pirate radio in the sixties, with the likes of Keith Skues, Andy Archer, and Tom Edwards recalling their days on pirate radio.

The first part is to be broadcast on Easter Sunday at mid-day, the second part is the following day, Easter Monday at 1.00pm.
I for one, shall be having a listen.

I loved the original programs BBC Essex put out a few years back (on board the LV18 Light ship out of Harwich I think).
I can remember listening to it over a bank holiday weekend while laying some garden decking.

Incidently, has anyone seen the film "Pirate Radio" also known as the "The Boat that Rocked". Not totally true to life of course, but quite enjoyable.
