Hi,
Thanks Joe; I enjoy a bit of cabinetwork and making a speaker enclosure is a nice little project. The fret was hand cut very easily using a fret saw and didn't take long once the pattern had been decided upon and drawn on the ply; for workshop use the box can be knocked together using butt joints and woodworking adhesive with a few panel pins and the back panel can be either ply or hardboard; a couple of coats of varnish finishes the job. These simple cabinet or enclosure projects are a good introduction into more complex cabinetwork; I find such projects most enjoyable and they cost very little by way of materials.
I've had the Antex soldering iron for about nine years and bought it whilst visiting The Potteries from the Maplin store that was very near the Royal Doulton Factory before Royal Doulton Closed down in Stoke on Trent. (London Road).
Thanks for the tip on extending the lead Rob; the lead on mine is just long enough as I only use the iron seated at the bench.
Kind regards, Col.

So I now own 5: a TCP-1, a TCP-3 and my favourite: a 'Metcal' (wouldn't be without it - best iron I have ever used!)
