Ed, you can't stop it. It's not coming from you. Once somebody has your email address and some or all of your address book they can send emails that look as if they came from you. Absolutely nothing you can do apart from sending genuine emails to your friends warning them that they might get spam emails apparently from you and that you can't do anything about it.

I had a possible scam that could have hooked many people. Its e-mail that went like this:
"If you dont reply with the next 24 hours you will lose your prize of a Samsung Mobile Phone model XXXX " You were automatically entered into a draw for this after a purchase you made to an Ebay company and you were the lucky winner. If we dont hear from you with the time stated you will forfit it to someone else." No contest: just delete. Gary |
