Windows 10 PDF Question?

Here's one for the boffins, I've used Firefox for several years now, a few months back I upgraded the PC to Windows 10, I made sure the default browser was Firefox as that's what I wanted to continue to use, everything seemed fine, no problems downloading a PDF....that is until a couple of days or so ago, I wanted to download a PDF file, as soon as I clicked to open it the screen went white and multiple tabs started to be churned out across the top of the screen, zillions of them, like a sausage machine, being unsure as to how to stop them I pulled the plug.

So....I booted up again and uninstalled Firefox then set the default browser to Microsoft's Edge, no problem with downloading PDF's, anyways, thought I would try Firefox again and see if the problem I had before had sorted itself out, went to Mozillas download site and installed....same problem when trying to open PDF's

Anyone got an explanation, did I inadvertently click on something I shouldn't?

Disable PDF viewing and select Save in ALL browsers. (Preferences, Applications) It's built in and View in Browser by default in Firefox (While you are in Prefs, go privacy, pick Custom History and disable Third Party Cookies)
Make sure Foxit is installed via custom, with PDF plug in disabled, without Creator etc (or if you MUST use more vulnerable Adobe, disable PDF plug in)
Only SAVE PDFs and open outside browser.

(Win 10 is a downgrade. Win7 Pro is still available, and unless you are playing computer games or a local copy of Sage, Linux Mint with Mate and Redmond theme is more familiar to Windows users now!)
