Don't know why I came here today: just browsing.  Thanks for nice comments.

But of course I wrote a second article after finding someone had reversed engineered the WellBrook.  Yes! X Ray and chemicals.  I built the replacement design and  did some comparison testing.  If anyone is interested, then I simplified my design removing the current source and the 10 Ohm resistors in the first stage.  Better performance and stable.

I'm actually going to build one in the near future to put in the loft (away from noise) to feed downstairs, I'll eventually start a new thread.

I have one comment, is that acrid smoke that stings the eyes when superglue is heated harmful.

I have not seen any acrid smoke from soldering on the tiles.  It will be a very dry, thin film, under them done right.   You need a hot iron and be really quick with it anyway. After 65 years of soldering I'm the fastest bit in the west.

If you pour a puddle of Super Glue and stick a hot iron in it and breath it in,  bound  not to be good thing.  Read somewhere that the fumes are cyanide so if you are tired of life

Hi.
Heated super glue and the fumes are not dangerous as such, they are basically an irritant. Cheapo Chinese super glue can contain Benzene and other nasties and these need care if heated

Never worried about soldering the tiles. Much bigger hazards in the hobby; do you use a screaming router? Scares me every time until I get into it but I'm ever so careful.

I hate grinders. Saw a disc fly into fragments a few years back in a garage, nobody hurt fortunately.
