I picked this up on a car boot sale some time ago for £15. It took about 2 weeks to restore it to full working order, most of the time was spent cleaning up the front panel. I added a 6V6 output stage in one of the DF valve sockets. I did not clip out the DF valve, but bent the holder back, and insulted it, so any future owner could restore it if the wished!

That's cleaned up well, I used to have one of them, it had all the DF section complete except for the two valves, nice and simple reduction drive on these receivers, I ran the loudspeaker via a transformer straight from the audio out, it was loud enough for my use, you can just about see the receiver in this pic (top right):

That is a nice collection. Don't recognise anything except the R1155 and the AVO. Got my AVO from a car boot sale for £5. I once saw a 19 set going very cheap, but it was so heavy, I could be bothered. Also a CR100, but didn't get it for same reason. These days, I keep a foldable trolley in the car boot so if I get anything heavy, I can trundle it along in that. I prefer the small stuff thought, and don't really like to find too much at the same time! Just one good buy every so often is what I prefer.

Top shelf: Reception Set R106 MK11 (aka HRO 5t) Hallicrafters SX17, Wells Gardner BC348Q, R1155 with a Marconi TF2700 LCR bridge on top.
Bench: Murphy B40D (HRO bandspread coils in front) Hallicrafters SX28 (1-177 valve tester in front) RCA AR88D (Avo CT378 sig gen to the side) There are others on the bench opposite (not in photo) including Eddystone, Hammarlund, Marconi's, Racal's and various other bits. Here's the full set of coil packs that I refurbished for the R106 MK11, they were in a bit of a mess when I first got them, resprayed etc and new acrylic windows fitted, also did a front panel refurb on the receiver itself: The paint job was basically two very thin coats of semi gloss over the original crackle finnish, the window frames and the fixing screws were all sprayed separately. I had one in late 1960s to early 1970s, it "vanished" while I was at college?
I made a psu / amp / speaker in a military metal case same height and about 6" wide.
Bob, where is this car boot sale. I seem to have exhausted the ones near me.

It is at Preston, Lancashire. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. This is the large part, the other half (next to it) is about half the size.
