And now the little set has arrived, I can now confirm it as the Raytheon 8TP2 8RT1/1, made in 1955, (there is apparently no such model as the 7TP although there is an 8TP with seven transistors!). The set is in pretty good shape, The leather and stitching is in good nick and apart from a small dent in the rear grill it's undamaged, the insides are clean too, having escaped the dreaded battery leakage.
A quick check inside revealed that it has been repaired before, the AF transistors are all Toshiba germanium types rather than the Raytheon ck722, we will see how we go with those as the set as it stands is dead, and there's a short across the supply. There is also a sickening scraping noise when the tuning cap is turned,  but the vanes look undamaged so all may not be lost.When I get round to looking at it in detail, I'll take some photos and post in a topic without such a confusing title! But I am still looking for a Pam 710! Cheers, Andy. |
