What is a 'sending MTA?'

Yesterday, when attempting to forward a suspicious email to the genuine company coverned, Mail Delivery System returned it as undeliverable, accompanied by a'554-your access to this mail system has been rejected due to the sending MTA's poor reputation'  What is a MTA??

MTA stands for "Message Transfer Agent".

If you Google the entire phrase in quotes in your post, you'll get lots of discussion about the subject - it's a common problem.

I enjoy time travel stories. Nebogipfel was a character name in "The Chronic Argonauts" a short story by H G Wells which pre-dates "The Time Machine".

Stephen Baxter wrote the official sequel to "The Time Machine" entitled "The Time Ships" (probably my favourite book) and used the name again for a major character in the book.

In "The Time Ships" Nebogipfel is a Morlock a small hairy, ugly human descendant from the distant future. Nebogipfel has become my alias around the web. That said, it's easier to write than to say ...too many syllables!
