Albis 492 - Swiss set from 1948

After the last monster of a set it was nice to work on a small one.  No major problems with this one and it sounds lovely.   I'm planning to install this in the kitchen once I make space for it.  Valve line up is 2 x ECH21, EBL21,  AZ1, and EM4.   
One unusual thing - none of the paper waxies showed any leakage at all - and about half of them were within tolerance on value - that's a first for me.

Looks good, John. Not a set (or brand) that I'm familiar with...

It's nice to sneak a peek at your workshop - it looks very well organised. I used to have a pair of JBL Control 1s down here, but sadly the foam rotted away on both woofers (they lasted 20 years, can't really complain ). Feel free to share more pictures.

Hi David, well the magic eye is a NOS replacement - probably that last one I'll do since they're now so expensive.  I have a set waiting for restore that needs an EM34 and they now seem to command about $100 on the dreaded fleabay so I think I'll be doing the Russian conversions from here on.

Hi Mark,
Well the addition of the 'radio restore bench' was a summer holiday project about two years ago.   I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.  Beside it is my wood/metal working bench and on the opposite wall I have storage for tools, chemicals, etc.  To keep things cozy there's also a planer thicknesses, a table saw, a drill press, and a chop saw, all taking up space.   I was going to tidy everything up before I took the photos but since I'm in the middle of a build project I figured I'd share the chaos!
