Expected Lifetime of a Samsung 1A-BP105R Camcorder Battery

I have two of these Batteries, bought when I purchased a Samsung Camcorder almost 2.5 years ago. Last week I charged up both batteries, using the Samsung charger supplied with the camcorder. I haven't, in the meantime, used the 'corder, but decided I would check the state of charge before using it this weekend. The charging indicator on the Camcorder was orange, when I first plugged in the charger almost an hour ago. It has only just gone green. Is this normal? The battery is left in the camcorder when not in use, but the spare battery, also fully charged last wek, needs charging again (charge indicator on 'corder is orange0

the charger should test a fully charged battery that has been allowed to cool down for a short while with the charging light on. It is normal.
If you have a fake battery it should have cost a quarter of the price of a real one and will have about half the capacity no matter what the seller claims.

If they are lithium ion cells then yes, they will run down when not attached to anything. If your going to store cells best to charge them fully before putting them away but even the best Li cells loose 40% of their capacity in the first year, and for each subsequent year after.
