MODERN WIRELESS - Jan. 1928 ?

                        My first post here...

I've collected home broadcast receivers from around the world for many years now. Just acquired a "1928 SOLODYNE" that has been here in the USA for at least 40 years. In rather sad shape at the moment but fascinating to my American eyes with it's two double-ended M-O-V S625s.

Research to date indicates that this design first appeared in the January 1928 issue of MODERN WIRELESS. It is a John Scott-Taggert circuit. (I have not been able to locate a copy of that article. Thus my reason for this posting.)

Almost identical versions showed up in the Australian wireless press as a single dial 1928 SOLODYNE and a Two dial Crammond All-Metal Screen-Grid SOLODYNE. However I have reason to think that the bill of materials in the audio sections of these receivers are somewhat different. Therefore, I need to know the BOM for the Modern Wireless article.

It is well worth restoring as it has all the plug in coils with it.
I would tend to go for the closest period circuit diagram for study while you look for the article. Often forums have an archive of vintage magazines. It may be worth looking through them all and some ask you to contribute something before you can access the downloads.
Perhaps we will see a restore thread about your most cherished find being restored.
