True, given that for example, a typical IF frequency is 465kHz or thereabouts so no good for say using a wobby to line up an IF strip, but fine for audio etc.

Bizarrely, its not that tough nowadays - most micro-processors have a decent amount of analogue processing capability, including fast mutl-channel ADCs (analogue to digital converters). Once in the digital domain, its all about software, which again, is not that complex.

Its likely, however, that this device is implemented as an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) rather than a microprocessor and programmed in VHDL - again, the component count will be very low indeed. Natively, FPGAs can do very fast sample rates - up to 500Msamples/sec.

Probably more work in designing the mechanical components (case, screen, connectors etc).

Looks a bit of a gimmick to me, screen size to small, could be used as an indicator for modulated spot frequency alignment of vintage radios but why bother.

Specifications and display size aside, the other problem is that it's on your wrist, not an ideal display angle if fiddling around with electronic equipment.
