My Summer BVWS Bulletin arrived this morning, and I recalled that forum member and prolific author of restoration articles, Gary Tempest, had said he had another Bulletin article in the pipeline with Carl Glover on the restoration of dials - such a problematical issue for us. There it was - an excellent two-page well-illustrated article on restoring a vernier dial for an HMV 650 (AKA Marconi 561 and other variants). Gary explains how he created the artwork, refinished the dial itself, printed the waterslide transfer ('decal' in the USA), and applied it to the dial.
A most useful article - thanks Gary, if you happen to read this!
