I also have a Defiant radio, model no 547E, not sure what the E stands for, as I don't think the co-op made export sets,
but could I be wrong, It's a plessey chassis and the radio is MW, LW, and SW, after a recap, it is a splendid receiver.

From the fingernail score marks on the cabinet around the knobs Paul, it looks as though it gave good service to the original customer and many hours of listening.

I think you could be correct David, but it sounds really nice, valve line-up is ECH35, EF39, EBC33, EL33, AZ31.
not sure of the age of it, but seems to be late 40's, I think a makeover would make it a really nice set.

Hi Paul, this set of yours. Defiant radio, model no 547E, it sure looks a nice set, if its a plessy chassis it does sound odd, but i wonder if other makers sold their chassis under the Co-op label,.....regards...Alan.
