I purchased a WK 902 Twin Gang Pattress Box (Inside 41mm, Outside 44mm) with Earth and Cord grip. Not sure who from (B&Q or perhaps Maplin?) but it was intended to make a dual lamp load for a 300V DC power supply.

However the project was scrapped shortly after getting the holes cut into the front face of the WK 893 blanking plate. I decided to have ago at making a lamp limiter with the parts, the internal cord grip was very useful and I managed to buy from Maplin a 13 amp outlet of the type you fit onto the end of a cable.

Taking this apart showed it would be possible to enter wiring from behind and also any additional holes for mounting could be made, protected by the in-built plastic protective shrouds around the connections. The blanking plate plastic material is very brittle and only smooth on the front face :@ it had to be slowly drilled up from 2mm to the size required. Four rubber feet were added to the box corners, taking advantage of the ready made holes available.

It's nice to know that I have an additional piece of hardware for testing vintage radio's. The final picture may make you think the lamp is touching the output socket but No! It is just the angle of the shot, there is plenty of clearance.
