I was idly browsing my bookshelves and found a booklet published by the RSGB: "Amateur Radio Television Interference". It's dated June 1951 and cost 2/- (10p). I've attached the first page of a listing of TVs that were around at the time. Interesting because it covers everything from the earliest pre-war sets such as the HMV 900 to (then) modern sets such as the Bush TV22.

A surprise here is Denco, who we think of as coil manufacturers. Crosschecking with Jon Evans' invaluable website shows that he hasn't missed them: http://www.thevalvepage.com/tvmanu/denco/denco.htm
Were TRF's used for Sutton Coldfield ch 4 & & Holm Moss ch 2?
My copy of Newnes' "Television Engineer's Pocket Book" is similarly comprehensive in listing TRF or IF frequencies for all the sets available in 1936 despite a publication date of 1962.

Clearly both publications were very forward looking, anticipating the time when vintage sets would be resurrected as curiosities.
