where I discovered what these components are, I received additional information from Jeffrey so thought we should discuss them here.
These are multi-tapped delay lines and I recently obtained about fifty of them as part of a large component stash (more about this later).
Given that some of the other components in the stash were serial comms. IC's (RS-232/RS-485) I'm wondering if they were used for that application ?
It's not a type of component I've ever used before so I've got a few questions :
I'm assuming that they require the correct driving and load impedances in order to minimise ringing ?
How useful (or not) are they nowadays ?
Does anybody want some ?
