Are Accumulators still available?

This is asked purely out of curiosity - I'm not looking for one, but during a conversation yesterday evening, battery powered radios using Accumulators were mentioned, which made me wonder whether the 2volt accumulators used for heater (should that be filament?) supplies were still made.  The only battery powered radios I've ever repaired or restored have been the type which uses 1.5v LT, and, like others, I've used one or two 'D' cells for this purpose.

Expensive yes but they last a very long time, I've had a smaller one for about 15 years and its as good as new with regard to capacity.

Yes just keep them charged up.
If not they go the same way as other lead acid cells.
