Hi Gents, looks like I'm the first to use this section, so here goes.
Instrument trainer for private pilots.
When pilots who have learnt to fly visually start training for an IMC or IR rating they often find it difficult to achieve the co-ordination between hand and eye that is required.
Aeroplanes are expensive things to hire, so I thought about a simple trainer that could be used on the ground. This would consist of an artificial horizon instrument mounted on a pivot and controlled by a joystick.
This will be a type that had flight director bars which are randomly moved by electronics. The pilot's aim is to keep the aircraft symbol centred between the bars.
These instruments are usually powered by 3 phase 400Hz supplies, so a small inverter is also required to drive them (previous professional experience of this).
There is also a systen called R-NAV, not used much these days but a useful system to get an awareness of spatial geography; a simulator will also be built for this.
Hence recent requests for aircraft instruments.
There is also a long list of other projects that will form the subject of other threads.
How about the rest of you?
