LW, MW, SW, FM stereo, 30W per channel RMS, pseudo quad etc all from 1972 !!!!!!
Mega distortion on both channels and IF problems.
After the Sony bits arrive I"ll dig into this!!

Hi John,
Dug into it this afternoon, changed all the electrolytics in the Audio amps, there must have been a few leaky ones as the voltages were all screwy. Anyway now the Amps are working fine, sounds pretty good. The Radio section is dead, there is hum on the AM bands but nothing at all on FM. the tuning voltage seems Ok as the meter and the touch sensors are working. In the last move about 5 years ago I appear to have broken the extruded piece on one of the pots and lost 2 of the wiper knobs?? Need to see if I've got the switchery diagrams on the disk I got for this thing. I'll try and get back on it over the next couple of days.

I see you have even less working space than I do.

If you get that all fixed you have done really well IMHO.

i am sorry to have to admit that we scraped one of these about 14 years ago with what sounds like the same faults.
so i for one will be very interested in how you get on.

I must admit that I thought about it a few times but I still have it here. I now have a copy of the switchery from Wumpus. Some of the switches are very stiff, whats the best thing to use, I've got a sort of cleaner spray, I used something a few years ago and maybe that is what has gummed it up a bit now.

Dont all shout at me but try WD40 .
i had a KB radio with slider controles for vol and tone i had cleaned them about 6 months before with servisol when i tried to use it again the sliders were sized. a quick squirt of wd40 cured the problem.
is it just me or has any one else found servisol is not as good as it was years ago.

Yep! given up on Servisol and only use the expensive but very effective Dr-Oxit.

If you're a WD40 fan, they now produce a contact cleaner and other products - they've come to the realisation (admission?), that WD40 isn't a 'tool kit in a can' - it's a water displacement product.

I've got a can of the contact cleaner, but I haven't tried it yet:

i still have 3 cans of servisol but need something better but cheaper than deoxit.
but have servisol changed there forula ?
