I found a new antenna on flea bay from shepherd150, it's 185-790mm 6 section and 9mm in diameter, It was 4.99.
I don't think that the top is right but what the heck it's better than a wood screw!
Interestingly the innards have different diameters so I couldn't leave the original outer section.
