I relieved myself of the task of de-skirting an octal valve and bought some new octal plugs with all eight pins fitted.
That allowed me to play about with double triodes that are easier to get hold of than the octal ones.
The "new" skirts were cut from a carbon fiber ski pole I pulled from a contaminated lay-by.
