The only ones that always seem to have a full set are metal octals, handy for making octal plugs
The KT61 is a really huge output tube. It never ceases to amaze me how much bigger it is than a modern MOSFET or BJT. The first time I took it out involved a hell of a pull so I feared the pin had come off.
That pic is the radio on my bed on the boat. I literally work on my bed as not much free space. For safety, when it's on I lay out a thick board on the bed. Much of the soldering is done while kneeling.
