I find this a very useful discussion as, with my wanderings around design and building almost anything from DC to UHF and not having much space either, if I needed to replace my scope I would have quite a bit of research to do as it wouldn't be cheap. Currently I use my old Philips PM3240 which is reasonable for most things and about capable of showing a sinewave just over 100MHz (I dread to think with what accuracy as it's a 50MHz scope). I have often wondered about just how good a digital scope would be in an analogue world, particularly at the higher frequencies when sample rates become far more relevant. My own feelings would be for something similar to what I've got for general use, true 100MHz being a bonus.
